Email Defence Problems via 123-reg Update - July 2007
Anyone experiencing problems with their Email Defence
anti-spam and email protection reporting service are urged to Contact WebAlert for details of an alternative supplier.
WebAlert first experienced problems with the product in March / April 2007. Below is a recent email received from 123-reg which basically is a blatant pack of lies with reference to the loss of service
1) "We've just been told"
... vs WebAlert first contacted 123-reg about this in April/May 2007
2) immediate effect !?!?
... it was in April 2007 not July 2007 !
3) WebAlert was also informed in Feb 2007 that 123-reg were developing their own version ... vs we are working closely with supplier
4) WebAlert was told in April that the expected development time was 8-9 months ... vs as soon as possible
Email Defense: reduced service notice email
Dear 123-reg customer,
We are sorry to inform you that some features of your email defence service are temporarily suspended. We have been notified by our supplier that they have temporarily discontinued the quarantine functionality of this service. Your inbox will still be protected against spam and viruses but you will not be able to see junk messages that have been filtered. All other services of your email defence product are not affected. Our provider has not provided us with a specific date as to when a quarantine service will once again be available but we will keep you informed about any changes.
With immediate effect, you will no longer be able to access the web portal and receive emailed reports about your quarantine.
Due to the reduction in functionality, the price for email defence will be reduced from 71p per month to 35p per month until further notice.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you and are working closely with the service provider to get this up and running again as soon as possible.
Kind regards
The 123-reg administration team
An amusing quirk to this is that 123-reg's own newsletter get's quarantined as spam by the Email Defense product, therefore few if any 123-reg customers will actually receive the "Email Defense: reduced service notice" email.
